Ιστορία της Μαγείας

Παρατηρω οτι γενικα ολοι οι φαν που ασχολουνται συστηματικα με τον Χαρι Ποτερ θελουν να εχουν γνωσεις γυρω απο την Ιστορια της Μαγειας μιας και το συγκεκριμενο μαθημα ειναι σιγουρα πολυ ενδιαφερον.Οπως εχουμε διαβασει στα βιβλια υπαρχουν πολεμοι τελωνειων οπως και πολεμοι γιγαντων και αλλα σημαντικα γεγονοτα για τον κοσμο των Μαγων.Δυστυχως ομως μεσα στα 7 βιβλια του Χαρι Ποτερ δεν εχουμε την ευκαιρια να δουμε παραπανω πραγματα εκτος απο αυτα που ανεφερα παραπανω.Σας καλω λοιπον να ψαξουμε σε ολα τα γνωστα site και να βρουμε πληροφοριες γυρω απο την Ιστορια της Μαγεις και να τις βαλουμε εδω

History of Magic

While the main timeline gives names and dates for specific events, this chronology indicates broad eras in the history of the wizarding world and traces the development of the ever-widening gap between the Muggle and wizarding communities.

Ancient Egypt -
Egyptian wizards put curses on tombs; nowadays curse-breakers for Gringotts try to regain the treasure locked in those tombs, one pyramid has mutant skeletons of Muggles who'd broken in and "grown extra heads and stuff." Magic is integrated into society and Wizards are held in high esteem.

about 1000 AD -
Growing distrust on the part of Muggles for wizards and witches compels the four greatest witches and wizards of the age to found Hogwarts. Salazar Slytherin builds the Chamber of Secrets after his point of view that only pure-blood wizards should be allowed into Hogwarts was dismissed. The wizarding world begins to withdraw and hide itself from the Muggle world.

Fourteenth Century -
Witch burnings; Muggles were particularly afraid of magic but not very good at recognizing it, Wendelin the Weird burned at the stake 47 times in various disguises (Flame-Freezing Charm)

1400's -
With the coming of the Renaissance and the increasing reliance among Muggles on scientific reasoning, the break between the Wizarding and Muggle worlds is becoming more and more complete. Each culture goes on to create their own civilization: social structures, economies, governments, etc. Each borrows a little from the other as the years go by but it becomes apparent that the Muggles must be kept ignorant of the existence of their magical kin for their own good. Some Muggles persecute their magical neighbors, others try to exploit magical power for their own gain and for quick fixes to their problems.

1600's -
Goblin rebellions in Britain.
Muggle persecution reaches an all-time high. These are dark times for the Magical Community. The governments of the Wizarding World meets to consider solutions to the crisis and create the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy of 1692. This not only completes the separation of the two cultures but also lays the responsibility on the various Wizarding governments in each country for maintaining the secrecy of everything from Quidditch games to dragons. Over the years, for Muggles, magic becomes the stuff of fairy tales and legend.

1800's -
Giants warred amongst themselves, bringing their species to the brink of extinction

1970's -
Voldemort's rise to power, culminating in his battle with James and Lily Potter and his defeat by Harry Potter (10/31/81). The Giants, most of whom fought for Voldemort, retreat to northern Europe.

1990's -
Voldemort rises again (1994)

The International Warlock Convention of 1289 was a meeting held in 1289. Nothing is known about what was decided, or attempted to be decided, at this convention. The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards may have contributed to this convention. A subcommittee of Sardinian sorcerers was also involved in the convention in some capacity. This topic is studied in second year History of Magic class at Hogwarts School.
The Goblin Rebellions were a series of rebellions in which the goblin population of the Wizarding world revolted against discrimination and prejudice toward their kind by wizards and witches. They were most prevalent during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but even in modern times there are subversive goblin groups working in secret against the Ministry of Magic, according to the Daily Prophet. The historical rebellions have been described as "bloody and vicious."
One rebellion, in 1612, took place in the vicinity of Hogsmeade Village; the Three Broomsticks Inn was used as the wizard headquarters for the rebellion.

Today, the Goblin Rebellions are one of the most important topics Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry students study in History of Magic. For the final exams during their first year, they have to memorize the dates of the Goblin Rebellions. During his fourth year exams, Ron Weasley could not remember all the names of the goblin rebels and invented some; by luck, he guessed Urg the Unclean's name correctly. In his History of Magic Ordinary Wizarding Level in 1996, Harry Potter skipped question four, which asked whether wand legislation contributed to the goblin riots of the eighteenth century.

Given the anger expressed by some goblins, such as Griphook, about wizards denying goblins the right to use wands, it may indeed have been a contributing factor to past rebellions.

The Giant Wars were wizarding bellicose conflicts that had historical significance, having taken place in, or earlier to, the end of the nineteenth century.
Giant Wars are part of the O.W.L.-level History of Magic curriculum at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. During the 1995-1996 school year, this was a recurrent subject of Professor Cuthbert Binns's classes, and the professor once set a foot-and-a-half-long essay about it.
